How to turn off autoplay videos on Facebook

A lot of times we’ve been wondering how can we turn off that disturning content autoplaying videos on Facebook cause that’s actually been a pain for some people, especially if you don’t have interest of the content you’re browsing. So, we in TechDomes decided to show you the way of turning off that feature, if it’s annoying for you.

Some many times I’ve been scrolling down Facebook and autoplay just starts to make its appearance sometimes on videos I don’t personally have an interest on. Also, sometimes I can be scrolling down to a video I’d not want to see due to its violence scenes or something same.

Many browsers such as Chrome and Firefox now have a built-in extension which provides the user with no autoplay on videos, but that also requires a manual tap on playing videos.

Whether you’re looking to put an end on the autoplaying videos on social media or trying to make a comprehensive fix on your videos, we’ve got some tips, but keep in mind you have to change these settings on every device you want in order for them to work.

If you’re using Facebook on your browser, you can turn off autoplay videos by navigating to the Settings menu found within the drop-down menu at the top right of the page. Look for the Videos listing on the left-hand menu. Inside of that option is a toggle where you can turn off autoplaying videos.

Facebook has similar options available for its iOS and Android apps, but it’s much harder to find than on a browser.

If you use iPhone or iPad

  • Click the menu button on the top of your screen
  • Once you”re there, tap “Settings and Privacy”, then “Settings”
  • From there, scroll down until you find “Media and Contacts, then tap “Videos and Photos”
  • Finally, once you find “Autoplay”, you can turn off the feature.

If you use Android or Tablet

  • Click the menu button on the top of your screen
  • Once you’re there, scroll down and tap “Settings & Privacy” then “Settings”
  • From there, scroll down until you find “Media and Contacts”
  • Finally, once you find “Autoplay” you can set it to “Never Autoplay Videos”
