Windows 10’s next big update won’t feel big at all

Microsoft has released the first few details of the upcoming 19H2 update for Windows 10, the operating system’s second major feature update of the year. First, the bad news. It sounds like this is going to be a minor update, even by Windows 10 standards. Microsoft says the update will offer “performance improvements, enterprise features, and quality enhancements” for Windows 10, and that it’s currently targeting a September release.

The biggest announcements of Microsoft Xbox at E3 2019

The first major E3 2019 keynote kicked things off with a bang. With Sony absent from the show, Microsoft used the opportunity to make a number of big announcements, including detailing its next Xbox, called Project Scarlett, as well as providing release dates and trailers for much-anticipated games like Halo Infinite and Gears 5. We also got a new Elite controller, a surprise Blair Witch game, and a whole lot more.

Xbox Game Pass is coming to PC

Microsoft is bringing its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, which offers access to a vast library of Xbox One games for a monthly fee, to Windows PC. Instead of console games, however, Xbox Game Pass for PC will offer “a curated library of over 100 high-quality PC games on Windows 10,” Microsoft announced Thursday.

While the long-documented rivalry between Microsoft and Sony may not be over, it does appear that the two companies have realized that in certain areas they are stronger together. In an unexpected announcement, Microsoft and Sony revealed that they had partnered to develop new cloud gaming and streaming technologies.
